Service Learning;Independent Hours(15 hr.)

Another year at con high and once again another year for service learning.Now many know what service learning is and many don't well for the ones who don't it's just like community service it's volunteering to help around the community.Well this year and same as last we had to do independence hours and this year goal was to get fifth teen hours of service learning.I was fear that I wouldn't get any done so I planned mines and I started to do them in April.In this essay I will discussed all the things I did to get my hours done.
Daycare is one of my resources which I completed seven hours total with volunteering one day I would watch the kids and sit in the playroom which means when every teacher brought they kids down they would go on a break and they would be left with me that was cool I got to play some of the games with the kids also it was really building me up for my responsibility which I will have someday and I think it was cool overall I really enjoy myself.One another day I would help prepare some of the food such as cereal for breakfast and peanut-butter and jelly for lunch it was so cute every time I would walk in and give them something to eat even it was breakfast or lunch and they would say thunk you but they really mean to say thank you and I would laugh every time they was so cute.Finally on my last day the kids didn't want me to leave they ask if I can stay but really I couldn't because I wasn't old enough to work there but if I could I would have went back when I came out the last day I really wanted to go back because I got so attached to the kids that I really started to miss them as if they was really mines but next year they will see me again.
My second resource was my neighborhood car washing I thought that this was okay I really didn't like it as much as the daycare but it was okay.Most of the time I was even washing the car or drying the car off I really hated drying the car because at some time they wet the car too much and it take forever to wipe it and for me to get it in a way so it wouldn't look smeared.I really didn't like this one because some of the customers would get smart and try not to pay or they would even try to cheat me out of the money at one time I really wanted to just stop I felt like I wasn't getting paid for it so why be here but I winded up staying and getting my hours done.Overall it was pretty good I don't consider doing it again next year because it 's too disorganized and also it's never a break you stay working 24/7 and I'm the type of person who need a break or I won't do nothing right so next year I really don't want to do car wash it looks fun but it's really not all that fun.
Finally my third and last resources was babysitting and cleaning up old houses.Out of all the things I did I would say these two was the worst first lets talk about the babysitting thing first I was told I was watching twins then when I got to the house it was like five kids there I said excuse me but I thought I was only watching two she said ow no it's five I was ready to walk out but I didn't knowing that I should have.These kids was so messy and bad they draw all on the wall put sticker all over my face and they played all in water that winded up all over me they were outrageous they act as if they had no home training and I was really wishing they would go to sleep.When they mother finally came back I was happy and ready to go home and go to sleep myself because I was worn out.On the other hand we have cleaning the houses all I can say is "NASTY" bugs was on me I kept itching and it stinked so bad I was about to throw up I would never do this again ever in my life.I might do babysitting next year but definitely not the same kids diff rent kids.
Now that I talked about all the things I did which was daycare volunteering,babysitting,cleaning up old houses,and the car wash.Tell me what you think and tell if you do things to help the community out.

Improving An Old Essay:Comparing Ms.Luella Bates Washington Jones w/ Grandma

There are many family members who reminds me of Ms.Luella Bates Washington Jones.The one who reminds me the most of Ms.Jones is my grandma.Unfortunately my grandma pasted away in September of 2000 from cancer so that's another way my Ms.Jones is a character in the story who was made up and my grandma die so it's like she invisible but she still remains in my heart forever and ever.In this essay I will tell you why they remind me of each other and that's from they feelings,personality.
Feelings,now feelings is expressed in a person every person have many different feelings for many different things but in this case I would say Ms.Jones and my grandma feelings were somewhat the same.Each of they feelings are alike because they are caring and they have a heart of gold.They both would take anybody in during they bad times and show them a thing that they never had which is to be loved and comfort.Now lets talk about they sweet and loving ways which makes everyone loved them and which they love them too.Ms Jones and my grandma is so much alike that when I read the story I started to thing back to the time when my grandma was here.As I said before both of the two somewhat have the same feelings and is very sweet and loving.
Personality,a thing that define who you are as a person well I would say that both Ms.Jones and my grandma are both like pineapples hard on the outside but sweet and soft in the inside.The both make people feel as if they can be loved and they are not people who thinks they are the center of attentions they don't care about they self they feel for other people.They both take people in if it's a outsider of not and also they believe i people they are hard on them but really they showing them true and tough love and that what many kids need today who won't do the right thing they need people in the world like them.If they mom and dad don't care then who will so I think it should be many more people in the world like them and maybe the world would be a better place.
Now that I discussed why I compared these two wonderful people and how I think they are alike which is by they feelings, and they personality you tell me is their someone in your family who reminds you of Ms.Jones?

Service Learning:Week 7

Yesterday meeting went really well when we first got to the classroom we discussed how the fundraiser went on Wednesday which went pretty good we made sixty seven dollars.Then we all broke up into groups to do different things we had five laptops in the room and five people from our group responsibility was to look up toys and books we can buy for the kids ms Mahdi told us to look up items fifteen dollars and less but that was only one group responsibilities.Me and Christa job was to plan the next fundraiser we also had to agree on what date it was going to be on and what things we was going to sell so we went around asking kids what will they buy the most so we decided on getting water ice,ice cream,and the drumsticks.The last group kids had to come up with ideas to do with the kids like arts and craft and they came up with things to buy them too.At the end we all came together to update the group with what everyone was doing and we all gave our thoughts on things we thought would and would not work then we wrapped it all up and it was time to leave and again I think our group got a lot done and it was a success.

Planning For Today Meeting:Week 7

Today I think we should discuss:

-Go over the overall things we did all together
-Plan for next week session

Today for our service learning which is the seventh week I think we should first explain the fundraiser that we did on Wednesday and talk about the positive and negative outcome.Then I think we should plan a date or maybe go out today to start getting some of the books for the children hospital since books are cheaper we should start with the books.We should then all have a group discussion on the service learning we did all together so that everyone can relate then we should start to plan for the next week.

Of Mice and Men:Symbol Essay

Have you ever had something for a long time and feel as if when you let it go you might loose it.Some people feel as if when they receive or buy something it becomes a symbol in they life and it represents many thing in they life.In the book of mice and men it's a character in the story who receive a dog ever since it was young and it was forces to give it up and let them kill him.Put yourself in his shoes would you do that.In this essay I will address why I think this dog is a symbol in his life.

Now lets talk about the dog's death now I know I pretty much told you that candy dog was killed but I am going to explain it to you step by step.First candy had his dog while the men was working then it was lunch time candy was feeding the dog Carlson spotted the dog and started persuading slim to put the dog to rest.On that night slim was playing cards Carlson was sitting down then candy walked in with his dog then Carlson started to pick and tell candy that he should shoot the dog.As candy refused slim was agreeing with Carlson so he told candy that the dog was going to be put to sleep candy still refused but they demanded it.Candy tried to tell them to wait til tomorrow trying to get around the idea but he had to so he gave his dog up laid in the bed quietly and depressed all of a sudden"BOOM" and that was the end of his dog then candy started to cry.What would you do if someone or something was tooken away and you had no choice but to give it up tell me would you act like candy.

Candy dog was a symbol in his life because it was his friend and he comfort him.Candy dog was close to him and he loved candy and candy loved him too.I think as the years flew by candy grew closer and closer to his dog and as the years formed he was considered as candy friend.I think when candy dog was put to sleep it really took a huge chunk out of candy life.Candy was very miserable and sad and it looked like he was very lost and couldn't find his way back.I think that that really messed candy up because not only did he have that dog since he was a pup but that was the only thing close to him.
Now that I expressed my thoughts on how candy dog represent a symbol i the story.Tell me would you have done the same for your dog or would you had been more active then candy?After reading this essay tell me would you have giving up a friend close to you or would you fight to the bid of end.

Of Mice and Men:Theme Essay

In America everyone has a dream some dream big and some dream small.So someone came up with the idea of calling it the American dream.What is the American?Who knows some people thinks money is the American dream and some think otherwise.In the book of mice and men all the characters are striving for one thing a thing called the American dream.In this essay I will talk about the two important dreams that I think was accomplished through the story and the one I thought was the least accomplish in the story.
First lets talk about the one that everyone thinks is a dream and that's fortune.None of the characters in the book was even close to fortune but the boss and of course his son because if he's rich his son is rich.The boss had the fortune he had people working for him so all he had to do was sit back and do nothing but collect money and handle or do something from time to time.Now on the other hand the others had nothing they worked just for a living and to just say that they had money they were provided with a place to stay and food but I wouldn't say they were that fortunate compared to they boss which he had the fortune.
Secondly,Family the most important thing to you and some say the only thing you can rely on is family.Now don't get me wrong some people are just blessed with an wonderful family who comfort them and look out for them the way they should but then you have some people who doesn't get along with they family at all.In this book none of these characters had family they can rely on they only had people who they thought was family.Three characters in the story really grew into a great bond and the characters was Lennie,George,and Candy.When candy dog was killed they kind of felt sorry for candy and candy wanted to leave bad so he ask if he can come and he would put all his money in so they let him.I think that these three were the closest that they would ever get to family and I thought that was really great what they did and I feel as if they all needed someone to lean on for all the things they been through.
Now that I expressed what I thought was accomplished in the book which is family and the one I taught was least accomplish which was fortune.I want you to tell me about yourself do fortune over ride family in your life or is it the same as the book.

Of Mice And Men:Motif Essay

Have you ever been in the predicament where you felt so lonely and needed some companionship but didn't know where to find it.In the book of mice and men there are a few characters that feeling and is lonely and looking for companionship.In this book these characters not only felt lonely but they felt miserable.In this essay I will talk about a few characters in the book of mice and men and also talk about why I feel they was lonely.
First lets talk about candy a man who was the sweetest one through out the whole movie/book.I think candy was the main one that felt lonely and miserable now candy wasn't always like that he had a dog that was more like a friend to him then a human.When candy dog was killed I thought it was very sad because then candy became really lonely and miserable because he had that dog for a long time and he grew very close to that dog and I feel as if he should have kept the dog and let it go on its own at least he wouldn't have felt bad and regret it after.
Next lets talk about crooks,crooks to me is a type of person who was forced to be lonely he couldn't sleep with the other guys he slept in a dirty barn with horses which probably stink.Crooks could only be around the men when they wanted to play a game which I felt was totally unfair because if you going to be someone friend be they friend don't just be they friend for one reason that's not right at all.Crooks seen like a person who just wanted to be a friend so bad like when Lennie came to the barn because all the men was leaving out of town so he walked in the barn where crooks was at and crooks at first was being a little mean but then he got the feeling of talking to a person and he was happy.George came into the room and told Lennie he had no business in there crooks said he was okay so I think that was the only time I think he wasn't feeling so miserable and lonely other than that he was a very lonely and miserable man.
Now that I talked about the characters who I think was lonely and needed companionship which is Candy and Crooks.I think you should be the one who judge what do you think?Do you think someone else in the story was more lonely than the people I choose?Tell me what you think?

Service Learning:Week 6

Today on my first day back(haraay i get to really get back to work)it went well we talked about the next time we was going to do the ice cream fundraiser which will be Wednesday.We all took roles again on what to bring and who is working on what I am responsible for bringing some ice cream.We also came up with this idea of when someone buys a ice cream they can write a little friendly message on the card so we all decorated cards and we will have them down stairs on the day of the fundraiser.I think again this week was a successful week and it feel goods to be back in my group meeting and getting back to work to accomplish the goals.

Service Learning:Week 5

For service learning this week I wasn't here but I heard my group held a fundraiser which they sold ice cream it was a big sucess they made 100 dollars(haraay for us).I think that our group is doing great with the time that we have and I feel as if we going to get alot done.I heard that we people was rushing to get the ice cream and I think that is great and we are getting alot done.

Service Learning:Week Six Planning

This week for service learning I think we should:

-Go over what other things we gonna do to raise money other than selling the ice cream

-Research more on C.H.O.P

I think we should first come up with another drive we can do other than selling ice cream maybe we can do a candy drive and sell candy or sodas.I think we should also research more on C.H.O.P because we can never do too much research.

1.How would you identify Lennie and George?

A:I would say that Lennie is a person who is not so bright mentally but somehow is smart physically. George is the other way around he is smart knows his way around but physically he doesn't have as much talent as Lennie far as work wise.Lennie do get guided by George and depend on George but I feel as if George needs Lennie two because together they make a good team and I feel as if it wasn't for the way that Lennie works George wouldn't have ever got the job.

2.How would you compare candy and George?

A:I would say that candy and George are a little alike but I feel as if candy had more of a heart then George.I think when candy dog was killed by someone else George kind of felt for candy and what was done to him because that dog was a big part of candy life.When George and candy sat down and had that talk about why candy should come with them candy stated"You saw what they did to my dog they killed him I should have shot him myself I shouldn't let them do it".I think that's when the compatibility set in and George begin to feel for people and learned how to have a heart. I think he took it into consideration and even though it wasn't right but that's why I think he shot Lennie because of the talk with candy.

3.Demonstrate a similar topic in which relate to candy and candy dog

A: I think a similar topic to that is a sick relatives and there families.Sometimes when people are really sick and can't do anything for they self and the doctor feel as if they useless then the doctor inform the family to pull the plug to let them die.Some family feel as if let them go on they own and other families feel as if okay lets pull it this person has suffered too long.I think this relates to candy and his dog Carlson and slim was like the doctor and candy was like a relative he was saying no let him go on his own and then he tried to ease them into tomorrow with saying wait to tomorrow. Everyone know that is the number one thing a people say when they don't want to let something go then that tomorrow becomes the next day and so on.On the other hand Carlson and slim were not having it and they felt as if he has to go now and candy made a choice and he cried after which relates back to family member who cry and feel guilty.

4.If you was candy how would you solve the conflict with his dog?

A: I would not have let them kill my dog I would have told them no.I think that they should not have killed his dog I felt as if when they killed his dog they killed apart of him also it made him miserable that dog was his friend and now he was lonely.I would have solve this problem by saying no and if they would have said yes we is going to kill your dog I would have left and that would have been it the boss would have had one last man who was working for him and I would have still had my dog.

A:Believe it or not but I think George changed the most through the book.I feel as if in the beginning of the book George really didn't want Lennie with him but then he just grew into Lennie being around him.I think Lennie really taught George some good responsibilities because he really handle Lennie well and I think it really hurt him at the end when he killed Lennie.

Answer:I would ask george did the pep talk he had with candy really make him shoot lennie.I think george killed lennie because he felt it was better for him to take george out instead of someone else.i think when candy talked to george about them killing his dog and he related to back when they killed his dog he said I should have killed my own dog I should not have let them do it so I think we they were looking for lennie to kill him george tried to find him as fast as he can to do it hiself because he did want to regret of someone else killing him.I would still ask him because maybe he thought diffrent.

Answer:I would say that it would be more of a nice comfortable living space I wouldn't say it would be a mansion and that they are living like they are rich.I say that they would live better then they did before.I think that it would be a little close to a house figure but not quite there and also it would have land for them to work on and make a living but at they own pase and people not telling them what to do.

1.Candy-Candy was pretty much a laid back man kind of like myself and he also seem like a caregiving and heartful person.

3.Lennie-Lennie was not like the other guys far as brain wise but he was gooder than them far as physically wise.Lennie was a good person but his small thinking caught up with his harmless ways.

Plans for week 5 service learning

This week for service learning I think that we should:

-Start planning a drive to do
-Start to make flyer's to let people know
-Try to talk more with C.H.O.P

I think we should do these three things on this week service learning.I think we should start planning the drive that we is going to do so that we can get to the next group that we want to do and not wait to the last moment and try to get a second thing done.I think we should start making flyer's so people can know and try to talk to C.H.O.P more so that we can make up steady date and arrangements to come and meet and give out the gift to the children.

My Feeling So Far On Service Learning

Every year for service learning kids in constitution high school come up with ideas to do for service learning. As me being a fellow student of constitution high school I volunteered my service for the two years that I been here. The first year my freshman year I signed up for a group that was already made which was the elementary school tutoring which was pretty good for our first year. This year for service learning me and three other friends had an idea in mind then we made it as a school-wide service learning group which I think is doing good two. In this essay I will talk about what was successful, what challenges or problems did I encounter, what have I learned so far, what needs to be worked on for the coming weeks, and what should be changed for next year.
First I am going to talk about what was our success would first like to say that we are doing very well from the way it was before. We started we was not agreeing on anything and it was very disorderly. I think that we have been a success ever since the first meeting, which we just talked about the basic. I think that the part that we play in our group is a success because everyone in the group is very consistence and want to do what they have to do to give back and make the community a better place. I think that our group is very successful at communicating with C.H.O.P, which is one of the places we are going to be going. The last thing that I think is successful is our togetherness I know people probably say well that does not matter but in order to get things done you have to be comfortable. I think that we all get together good and we all striving to make one thing come true and that giving back.
The challenges and problems that we encountered, I would say that every time when you do plan some thing it is always a problem if it’s not one thing it is another. When we first picked the group it was a little problem with not doing it as a service learning school-wide thing but doing it as a club which we all came to an agreement of just doing it as a school-wide and then next year trying to get it as a club. I would say another reason is we might not have time to do both C.H.O.P and the homeless shelter, which our group wants to do both so that we can help out two places that really need help. I think one of them are going to get cut short based on the time we have and I ‘m guessing it’s going to be the homeless shelter because we is working on C.H.O.P first then we going to jump right into the homeless shelter I hope we can get both of them done because both of them can really benefit.
I think for the coming week we should get more organize on what how we is going to distributed it such as if we is going to hand it out there or just send it over, I also feel as if we should already be passing out flyer's and starting a drive so that we can get one over with so we can have time for the next. Other than that I think we should cover that for the coming weeks so we won’t be doing last minute things and be rushing than it will look like we doing last minute work which it shouldn't’t be because the way we is going now I think we are well prepared but I think in the coming week we should prepare for the drive that we is going to do and start making flyer's to let people know.Next year for this service learning group I think it should start sooner so that you can get as many groups as you want done also I would say to get to work ahead of time done wait to the last minute.

Service Learning Reflection:Fourth Meeting

On last week service learning I was not here but I did ask what happened at the meeting.I was told that they was taking roles and planning for the fundraiser they was going to do.I was also told that this week meeting was anoither sucess and people really steped up and played they parts I hope next week fundraiser go well.Considering that it is hot I think we will sell alot of ice cream and be able to give some stuff to the kids in C.H.O.P.

Service Learning;Third Meeting

On Friday(4/25) I was not here so I missed the meeting.When I came in on Monday I asked a member in my group what they did and she told me they went over ways to raise money for the charity that we was going to do.I was also told they went over role that everyone is going to play in the group also my group went over the questions that was giving to us to look up for C.H.O.P. My group also went over information that was sent to them from C.H.O.P which we have been waiting on. Overall I was told that it went really good and that our group is really starting to try to get things accomplished.

Service Learning Reflection:Second meeting

On Thursday we all picked up where we left off on Friday.First we came to an agreement and picked the two things out of the three we wanted to do.After that we all discussed our idea of picking one topic to do first then if we have time do the other.It took a while because some people wanted to do two things at once which we couldn't do because it was going to be to much.Then all of us came to a responsible agreement which was to do C.H.O.P first and then do the homeless shelter.We all went to the C.H.O.P website and we saw this sad story of a little girl who was battling leukemia which made everyone want to help out more.That was it for that meeting for the next meeting Ms. Madhi gave us all some questions to look up to bring to the next meeting.

The Empire Of The Son Review

In English class when Mr. Romero first introduced us to the movie I thought it was just going to be a boring movie that was going to put me to sleep but I really misjudged it. When the movie first came on it was a little boring but then it got interesting the character Jamie who later down get named Jim is a very interesting character. First Jamie start off as a little rich brat who always get what he wants but then when he let his mother hand go during the time of a world little rich Jamie have to learn how to survive in the real world and not things being given to him on a silver platter as he gets it usually. Through the story Jamie faces a lot of challenges as a little boy he meets a new friend well suppose to be friend name Basie who he later finds out is all for himself. Later on down the line Jim started to learn the routine and techniques and start to base himself well with the environment he was in. Jamie was a little boy at the beginning but became a man for the four years that he had been in the camp. Jamie character was one of the best to me no he was the best character and I really think that he really proved himself to everyone that he is not just a little rich kid who depends on everything. Overall I loved this movie and it also taught me a lesson never to misjudge anyone because of they background.

Service Learning:First Meeting

On Friday when we all got together me and my group pretty much did the basic.First we read over a paper explaining what service learning is then we all answered the questions.Secondly we all came to a agreement that we were going to do two things not one then we all put ideas on the board and we voted on the top three we wanted to do.After that we discuss all that we can do to give back to the ideas that we planned to do. Overall I think we did a pretty good job considering it was only our first meeting and I think that our group would be a success with the people in the group. The three that we narrowed it down to was the Animal Shelter,Homeless Shelter,and CHOP. For the next meeting we should all be talking about the research we have to do to find out what certain places need that we can donate to and also breaking people in the group down with a job so that each person who have a different job and we can get the work done.

This year for my independent service learning I have these five things  in mind:

Service Learning

This year for service learning I think we should give back to the community like gathering cloths for the homeless or serving food or we can gather toys for kids in the hospital and give it to them.For this year in service learning me,Felicia,Christa and Renee wanted to start a school club for giving back to the community like shelter and hospitals where kids are sick. We would go around collecting stuff like toys,clothing,bedding and other things that people will need. I am now in the process of calling community shelters and hospitals such as Temple and saint Joseph or children hospital. I think this will be such a success i have one hundred percent positive feelings about this program and not only for service learning but it will carry out for the rest of the year that how much i think this idea will be a success.We is doing it as a school-wide competition so that everyone in the school can have a chance to give back to the community.For my independent service learning I am volunteering at a elementary school for my fifth teen hours.I am going to go to the school and help out with the lower grades and maybe help out at a Library around my way.

NHD Reflection

Imagine you where a black student in Little Rock, Arkansas and you where a teenager and you walk threw a crowd of angry mob. What would you do? What would you be thinking? Well back in 1957 nine students walked threw an angry mob of white people who were mad and felt as if an other race was taking over they land so they refused. In this essay I will discuss why I choose this topic, where did I get my resources, and my challenges and success on this project.
First I will explain why I choose this topic. I choose this topic because it was one of those topics that caught my eye I felt as if I can really get into this topic and express my feelings. I think that this one I have this year would go much farther than the one last year and I can really plan my thoughts out and really tell the story and my point of view. I really love this topic and I think my board will express how much my partners and me enjoyed it.
Next is my resources I get most of my resources from the internet and I got two book resources which is called Warriors Don’t Cry and Understanding little Rock High incident one is by Melba Patillo Beals and the other one is by Melba Pataillo Beals and the other one C. Ford William. Like I said before I got a lot of my resources from the stuff that I never knew like they didn’t start off as the little rock nine it was a name just giving to them and they are known in American History Books I also learned what happened to the students after and it’s still move to come because I’m still looking for more information because I feel as if it’s never too much information.
Lastly are the challenges and the Success. The challenge for us I would have to say was deadline we never met the deadline for anything that needed to be passed in other than that we were all right. Successfully we got our project done and I think some of our successes was getting the right pictures and working together as a team. The only thing I would change is meeting the deadline as I said before and getting more organize but other than that Me and my partners Derelle Ivery and Antoinette Marks really enjoyed doing this topic and we look forward of working together again.

NHD Reflection

For NHD I did a group exhibit with me and my partners Derelle Ivery and Antoinette Marks. Our topic was Little Rock Nine it is about nine students who desegregated little rock central high school. I learned a lot from this topic not just from my research but also from just working with other people it taught me how to relate with my peers in school. I would have to say the most challenging thing for me and my group was dead lines we was always late in handing in all the stuff we need and also it was hard finding a lot of research for the topic because we wanted enough research that we should be able to have troubles with making a theme because of all the research we had. Successfully we did overcome the project we had great annotations and we broke our board down and made a theme that all of us agreed on and we agree to do the before and after theme. Overall this was a great project I really got along with my partners and we did a lot of research that’s why it showed in our board and we advanced to the next round.

All the ideas I came up with I really just thought at the moment of what I should do but I really wanted to give back to the community. I was thinking about calling the big brother and big sister organization and asking can I sign up or we can do it as a school wide thing and we can call the head of the organization and arrange a schedule that we can come and talk to the kids who are involved in the program. I think it will be a great idea because we can keep in touch with that child and we can continue on being a role model for that child.

This chapters is based on waking everyone up that lives in bigger house.It is a dark and cluttered room which everyone sleep in and when one person get dressed the others have to turn they head.I think that this chapter also is trying to wake up the society. I think that it's letting them look at a reflection of they selves and how the neighborhood environment have a cause on they kids behavior.i think it is telling everyone to wake-up,do better for they family and they self.

Chapter 2 "Bigger finally makes his big decision'

Was what bigger heard about rich white people really true?Was he going to work for really people like they saw in the movie?

Bigger finally makes a decision whether he's going to take the job or dig up twenty to spend on a movie to help ease his growing fears of robbing old bums. Bigger and jack met up and went to the movie theater and they masturbate while watching while thinking of they girlfriends. After they discuss Bigger's up coming job interview with Mr. Dalton bigger was so stupid he said he would rather go to jail than take a job through the relief agency.

Chapter 4 "Yessum"

In this chapter Bigger goes to meet with Mr. Dalton for a job.I tilted this chapter "Yessum" because of the nervousness of bigger when he was being interviewed. Every question he answered "Yessum'  I think Richard Wright was trying to tell how blacks changed when they get around whites.

        A:Bigger covered her mouth so that she wouldn't make any noise because her mother would hear her and he was also trying to stay quiet because he didn't want her to know that it was another person in the room because he could loose his job. Can you provide an example of how bigger character is?

        A:Bigger reminds me of a pineapple they hard on the outside and sweet and soft  on the inside. Bigger tries to put on this hard and tough appearance but really can't handle what's coming.

        A:No I know people who act like bigger and do things he done but some things you just don't do. A lot of people I know who put on a act like bigger they would have backed down so I can give bigger a little credit for that.

What do you see as a possible outcome of bigger?

        A:I think bigger is going to get tired and try to change into becoming a bigger man. I think he is a person who is always trapped in the wrong and feel as if it's worthless and he can't do right. I think farther down he is going to try to get his self together.

Can you create a recipe to make a bigger?

        A:  1 pinch of toughness

            1/2 of sweetness

              1 pinch of innocent

             1/4 of always in the wrong

Procedures:

          1. First put a pinch of toughness in the bowl

          2. Then add a 1/2 of cup of sweetness

          3. Let it sit for about 10 minutes

          4. Then add a pinch of innocent

          5. Then add 1/4 of always in the wrong

          6. Mix all of that together

          7. Put it in a rat infested house

Do you think bigger is a good or bad person?

          A:I feel as if you are always responsible for your own actions.In the case of bigger I think that he is a little in between.I think that we he lives is apart of what bigger do and say. Did you ever heard of the saying you can take a person out the hood but you can't take the hood out a person and I think that saying represents bigger a lot of stuff that he do I think fall a little on the neighborhood he was in and the environment he was raise in. Then I wonder he is a bad person because he is responsible for all his action plenty of kids act professional and was raise up in the same environment as him. Bigger has to learn to not blame everything for what he has done be take responsibility for his own actions.

Service Learning :Reflecting Last Year
For service learning last year I did elementary tutoring we went to Independent Charter and we helped out with grades first-fifth.We visit them I think two times out of a week and each week we would get a younger child and we would help with they homework or classwork they were having trouble with.We would sometimes make games up for the subject they were having difficulty in.Last year I learned a lot from the kids I also learn how organize teacher have to be on gathering they schedules down also with trying to manage a lot of kids in one class.For the last day we went over to Independence Charter and it was a assembly that we attended which some of the kids we tutored was in they did the salsa,a cultural Greek dance,acted and sung songs, It was fun last year I really learned a lot from the younger kids and I 'm sure they learned a lot from me too.For this year I would like to do something difference not because I didn't like tutoring the kids but because I want to try something new every year because all of them is benefiting for one thing and that's helping out the community.

Sciene Project:Reasoning For My Project And My research

Sometimes when you’re bored and your mind goes wondering you often worry about a lot of stuff. One day my mind went wondering about toothpaste because of a comment my mother made about putting toothpaste on my pimple and I looked with such shock and confusion so it made me wonder what’s chemical reaction cause by toothpaste enable it to remove unwanted stains and materials. That’s when I started to develop an idea for this project. I had many other objects I would have choose but I thought this one would be fun and I would learn a whole lot of things from it. I conducted my research based upon the toothpaste brand I was using which is Colgate and I used a specific kind, which was the whitening oxygen bubbles brisk mint toothpaste. I looked the brand up on the internet and I got thousands of results but I stuck to the one that helped me out the most which was the web site called www.weired.com and I typed in the brand of toothpaste I had and it showed me what was in it. This website talk about what’s in it and how it plays a part in toothpaste. I was able to relate on this well because it helped me understand the part in the toothpaste that played a role in the experiments I did. This website helped me out a lot and I would definitely Look on it again for another project because it gave you a clear understanding. Overall I loved this project and hopefully I find another just as great as this.

Topic Essay: Little Rock Nine

Imagine you where a black student in Little Rock, Arkansas and you where a teenager and you walk threw a crowd of angry mob. What would you do? What would you be thinking? Well back in 1957 nine students walked threw an angry mob of white people who were mad and felt as if an other race was taking over they land so they refused. In this essay I will discuss why I choose this topic, where did I get my resources, and what do I expect to get out of this project.
First I will explain why I choose this topic. I choose this topic because it was one of those topics that caught my eye I felt as if I can really get into this topic and express my feelings. I think that this one I have this year would go much farther than the one last year and I can really plan my thoughts out and really tell the story and my point of view. I really love this topic and I think my board will express how much my partners and me enjoyed it.
Next is my resources I get most of my resources from the internet and I got two book resources which is called Warriors Don’t Cry and Understanding little Rock High incident one is by Melba Patillo Beals and the other one is by Melba Pataillo Beals and the other one C. Ford William. Like I said before I got a lot of my resources from the stuff that I never knew like they didn’t start off as the little rock nine it was a name just giving to them and they are known in American History Books I also learned what happened to the students after and it’s still move to come because I’m still looking for more information because I feel as if it’s never too much information.
Lastly is what I expect to get from this project. I expect to learn a lot and experience a lot from this project. Now while doing my research I’m learning a lot about this topic but I still want to learn more. I want to research so much that all I do is think about the little Rock Nine. When me and my partners get our board I will get a lot out of it such as learning how to tell a story on an board and expressing my opionons. And lastly I expect to have fun because I don’t want to be bored I want to do my work and have fun with my partners.
